ACCESS -
CHANGING THE WORLD ONE PROJECT AT A TIME |
|
Our approach to global preserations is to provide multi-cultural out-of-school youth,
18 – 24yrs old, with the personal and career skills needed to earn a livable wage in leadership positions as economies change. ACCESS (Another Course to College Educational Service Solutions) is a work-study, college prep program designed to teach young adults critical thinking about who they are in society and what they can provide in terms of role modeling and community service for younger generations, parents and elders. Fellows learn research, writing, speaking and presenting in mixed media. We provide instrutor led classes, webinars & open courses. Over the course of this ten-month training program, Fellows develop and present a solution-based thesis on issues in equity (e.g. environment, employment, education, health, etc.).
This graduation, Communications is a live virtual event with questions sent via chat and videotaped to be used for both training to create more inclusive policies for multi-cultural young people in the world of work. Transcriptions from the discussions will be turned into a journal and teaching module. Fellows will also present their findings to the communities they are from in digital media using our FREE ACCESS Showcase for others to study. Graduates are invited back to speak to new groups of Fellows and present in our ALUMNI HALL where they can update their work for life.
We also plan to create larger discussions on Facebook and in public forums like radio and podcasts.
